Scientific literacy constitutes a prerequisite for putting oneself in a position to competently evaluate any given claim, based on the evidence presumably provided, to substantiate that claim.
Notably, an interest and inclination in upregulating scientific literacy is all that is required to get started, even if a formal education in the sciences is absent. Curiosity and a willingness to be puzzled by seemingly simple things, constitutes a robust point of departure for deepening one’s insight and knowledge.
